Crush Swimmers and Families,

Despite this terrible Memorial Day Weekend weather I hope everyone is excited to get started on Tuesday! This is my first swimtopia email so apologies in advance if anything is off.

As we start practice next week I wanted to go over some general expectations. Swimmers should be on deck ready to jump in 5 minutes before their practice time. In the afternoons we will gather on the side of the deck near the playground, when we switch to mornings we will gather on the side near the baby pool. Swimmers should have goggles, suit, water bottle, and kickboard. We still have some extra kickboards in the shed but I would like all swimmers to have their own kickboard this season. We will be using them daily at least for warmup.

Parents should be off the deck under the pavilion. The pool will be open so you are welcome to use it but I would ask you give space to the practice. When we switch to mornings all parents should be off deck. I am always happy to discuss any questions or concerns you might have but I do ask we do so before or after a practice and not in the middle of one.

Swimmers will have some homework this week. All swimmers will receive a blank index card they need to write their name, age, individual goal, team goal, and favorite part about the Crush (new swimmers can leave this blank) and return the card to me.

Please make sure throughout the season you are checking for emails regularly. There is always a lot of information going out. New parents I know the beginning of the season can be overwhelming, please do not hesitate to ask questions to myself or other families. I promise everyone is very nice and has been in your shoes before.

Lastly, I know this is a crazy time of year with end of school and spring sport events. But please try to get your swimmer to as many practices as possible. This is considered the "pre season" part of the summer and we need to cover a LOT to make sure we are ready for meets in mid June.
