Jump Right In: No Experience Needed
⏱ Lane Timers
Times swimmers in your assigned lane. It’s one of the best seats in the house!
🏃 Runner
Delivers timing cards from the pool deck to the scoring table to help keep the meet moving. A great job to get your daily step goal!
🏅 Table Roles
Table - Place Recorder
Organizes cards in finish order and records placements.
Table - Verifier
Double-checks results before they are finalized.
Table - Awards Clerk
Labels ribbons and organizes them for swimmers.
🍿 Concessions
Concession Workers - 1st Shift / Concession Workers - 2nd Shift
Keeps swimmers, volunteers, and families fueled with snacks, drinks, and smiles. Bonus: shaded seating!
Concession Pick-Up
Picks up supplies and delivers them to the pool before the meet.
Fruit Preparer
Prepares fruit ahead of time and brings it to the pool.
🚗 Parking Attendants
Helps guide cars safely into the PH lot before the meet. This is an early shift, so you can finish and still enjoy the meet.

📣 Announcer
Announces events, swimmers, winners, and other important meet information. Brings the Crush energy!
📋 Clerk of Course
Organizes swimmers into heats and lanes before each event and helps keep the meet on schedule. If you love order, this is your job!
⏱ Chief & Assistant Chief Timers
Coordinates timers and makes sure all lanes are covered and ready for each race. This is a good job after you get timing down!
🚧 Marshal
Helps maintain a safe, organized pool deck and keeps things running smoothly. Marshals begin during warm-ups. Bonus: You are on deck so you get to see the races up close!
Officials & Training Required Roles
These roles require training and are essential to running a fair and official meet.
⚖️ Official - Referee
Oversees the meet and enforces all NVSL rules.
🚦 Official - Starter
Starts each race and ensures a fair start for all swimmers.
🏊 Official - S&T Judge
Observes swimmers to ensure legal strokes, turns, and finishes. As an official, this is the starting point of training.
🔄 Official - RTO Judge
Records relay take-offs to ensure fair exchanges.
💻 Table - Head Data Coordinator
Manages meet results and enters data into the system.
Volunteer Shift Note
For select B Meet and Concession positions, some volunteer positions may be split into two shifts so more families can help and volunteers can enjoy part of the meet.
